Privacy Policy

This page describes what this website and our contact form do with information, what we measure, and how to reach us about any of it.

Messages you send us

Our contact form asks for your name, an email address or telephone number, the project address, and a description of the work or the permit issue. We use those details to reply and to prepare a proposal. There is no database behind the form: the message is delivered to our mailbox and kept there as correspondence. It is not sold, rented or shared for advertising.

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the submission comes from a person rather than a script. Cloudflare processes the connection and browser information used for that check under its own privacy terms. Cloudflare also hosts the site and delivers form messages; our email providers process and store correspondence.

Survey responses

If you complete our CEI and scheduling survey, we store your responses in our Cloudflare database, including any name, company, job title and email address you provide. We also store the referring page and campaign information. We use the responses to understand schedule review needs and follow up when appropriate; they are not sold or published with your contact details. The contact form described above sends email; this separate survey stores responses in a database.

What we measure

We count page views and interactions with our own first-party analytics, using self-hosted Umami. Requests pass through this site to Umami, which processes your IP address, browser information, page address and referring page to measure visits, approximate location and device use. A hashed session identifier groups activity during a visit; Umami does not use analytics cookies or store raw IP addresses in its analytics records. We do not send it the contents of contact messages or survey responses.

We also measure the site with Google Analytics, a third-party service. Google receives the page address and your browser and network information, and sets its own cookies to tell repeat visits apart, under its own privacy terms. We do not send it the contents of a contact form, and blocking it changes nothing about the site.

Some links in our emails pass through a redirect service. It stores the link's campaign reference, destination, click count and the first and last click times. A link reference may connect a click to the message you received. When enabled, the service also sends the campaign reference, destination host and connection and browser information to Umami. These server-side link counts are separate from the browser counter and are not disabled by the browser choices below.

Session recording

A small sample of visits is also recorded, so we can see how pages are actually used: the recording replays clicks, scrolling and the page as it appeared. It is stored with our own analytics service, kept apart from the messages you send us, and is not used to identify you. Form fields are masked and the contact form is excluded from recording entirely. A recording does not start if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, or if you have already opted out of the analytics counter.

Search terms or other information in a page's URL can still appear in analytics and recordings. Masking a form does not remove that information from the URL. Our survey page does not load the session recorder.

Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets cookies of its own, as described above, and they carry no message details. We use no advertising cookies and no advertising pixels.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete a message or survey response you sent. Write to info@wittyfinch.com.

Enabling your browser's Do Not Track setting stops the Umami counter and session recorder on future page loads. It does not stop Google Analytics; browser privacy tools can block that service separately. Blocking analytics does not affect the contact form.
